Norwich City V Cardiff City – Saturday Oct 26th

October 21, 2013

Former Norwich stalwart Malky Mackay brings his Cardiff City team to Carrow Road this Saturday, but under a cloud of controversy regarding recent meddling by owner Vincent Tan. Not only did Tan sack Malky’s experienced Head Scout and right hand man, replacing him with his son’s 22 year old best buddy, who was working as a painter at the ground this past summer; Tan also allegedly tried to influence substitutions and tactics from the stands during games this season! Throw in changing the teams colors from blue to red and their badge from a Bluebird to a Dragon, and you can understand why the fans are not happy. However, he has brought them Premier League football…and that has come at a cost!

From our perspective this is a must win match. Our first 8 fixtures have seen us play 5 teams from the top 7 and now the schedule is going to get kinder, starting this week. Five winable home games ahead of New Years Day and expectations are high that those games will yield lots of points. We have played well over the last 3 games since switching to the 4-1-4-1, creating more chances than in previous matches- allowing players to get into advanced positions. Now those chances need to become goals as we play the likes of Cardiff, West Ham, Fulham, Newcastle, Palace, West Brom, Swansea and Sunderland over the next 9 weeks.

This Saturday’s game is LIVE at our home George Keeley’s. Doors open at 9.45am.

See you there!
