Norwich City V Cardiff City – Saturday Oct 26th
Former Norwich stalwart Malky Mackay brings his Cardiff City team to Carrow Road this Saturday, but under a cloud of controversy regarding recent meddling by owner Vincent Tan. Not only did Tan sack Malky’s experienced Head Scout and right hand man, replacing him with his son’s 22 year old best buddy, who was working as a painter at the ground this past summer; Tan also allegedly tried to influence substitutions and tactics from the stands during games this season! Throw in changing the teams colors from blue to red and their badge from a Bluebird to a Dragon, and you can understand why the fans are not happy. However, he has brought them Premier League football…and that has come at a cost!
From our perspective this is a must win match. Our first 8 fixtures have seen us play 5 teams from the top 7 and now the schedule is going to get kinder, starting this week. Five winable home games ahead of New Years Day and expectations are high that those games will yield lots of points. We have played well over the last 3 games since switching to the 4-1-4-1, creating more chances than in previous matches- allowing players to get into advanced positions. Now those chances need to become goals as we play the likes of Cardiff, West Ham, Fulham, Newcastle, Palace, West Brom, Swansea and Sunderland over the next 9 weeks.
This Saturday’s game is LIVE at our home George Keeley’s. Doors open at 9.45am.
See you there!
Arsenal v Norwich – October 19th at 10am.
Norwich v Chelsea – Sunday 6th Oct @ 8.30am
3 points in the bag and things looking up ahead of two very tough games against Chelsea and Arsenal. Mourinho is rolling into Norwich this week with his oil-funded superstars in tow, will the Hoot stick with the 4-1-4-1 from Stoke? Will Hooper start with Wolf? Lots of questions, find out the answers on Sunday morning bright and early!
Where: The Football Factory, 6 West 33rd Street (between 5th and Broadway)
When: 8.30 am
After the International break we will be back at George Keeley’s for the Arsenal game. WOOOOOOOOOT.
Stoke City v Norwich City – Sunday September 29th
The less said about last weekend the better. So I’m not even going to start, because the next thing you’ll know is it’s midnight and you are still reading this. So, on to Mark Hughes’ revamped Stoke City. Not the easiest of places to go, but the difference this season is that we may actually be able to play them at football and not get sucked into a game of hoof ball and header tennis.
I was hoping that after Tuesday night’s game-changing heroics against Watford we might see Josh Murphy up at Stoke, but after reading the Hoots words afterwards, that looks highly unlikely. Which is a massive shame because there are lots of teams currently playing a kid or two including Southampton, Palace and Everton. Hooper looked sharp and I can’t wait to see him play this weekend. He has to start with the Wolf, right?
Sunday’s game is an early one here in NYC and we’ll be at the Football Factory once again. It’s a 5 am start for me to get there by kick off, so come along and join me as I indulge in a fry up, down a few beers and celebrate an away victory. WOOT!
Should be a half decent crowd so I’ll see you there!
When: Sunday Sept 29th at 8.30 am
Where: The Football Factory, 6 West 33rd Street ( between 5th and Broadway)
Norwich v Villa Saturday 21st Sept
This Saturday’s early game at home to Villa is LIVE at the Football Factory at 7.30 am. Join us there for beer and breakfast ( there’s a mean fry up on offer if you need persuading to get up early). FF is also home to the NY Villains, so the banter should be fun!
We will be at the Football Factory for a few more weeks, due to early games and then the International break. We will be back at Keeley’s in October from the 19th when the 3 pm ( 10 am for us) kick-offs resume.
Back to this week, we should be fired up for this one after last weekend’s dour performance. Not that I mind losing to that new look Spurs team, they were terrific. Nor do I mind the Hoots tactics of getting behind the ball away from home BUT that said, once it goes awry and we go a goal down, there has to be more commitment and a change in plan. Sitting back just invites a more confident team with a lead to do more damage. We looked lost at times.
Anyway, at home it’s a different story, and Villa will provide a chance to get back on track. They started the season well but lost at home last week to a relatively poor Newcastle side. Anything but 3 points would be a major disappointment.

Lambert’s golden boy is a real handful, let’s hope Bassong and Turner can keep him quiet this weekend

Hull v Norwich City August 24th
The first game of the season is like Christmas morning for me. I’m like a child, pacing up and down staring at the calendar for days before hand, wishing the hours could pass faster. We are nearly there people!
We will be at the Football Factory on the 17th for the season opener Vs Everton. Kick-off is 10am. As always, Jack will be there to greet us with breakfast and booze (that’s if his appearance on NBC last night hasn’t gone to his head!*)
